The Narendra Modi government at the Center has decided to honor five eminent personalities (Karpoori Thakur, Lal Krishna Advani, Chaudhary Charan Singh, PV Narasimha Rao and Dr. MS Swaminathan) with the country’s highest honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ this year.
Four of the five personalities are political, while MS Swaminathan has been an agricultural scientist. Except Advani, other personalities will be given these decorations posthumously.
The big thing is that among the four political personalities, except LK Advani, three have been leaders of opposite ideologies and opposition political parties. Karpoori Thakur was the former Chief Minister of Bihar, who was first associated with Congress and later with Lok Dal and Janata Party.
Chaudhary Charan Singh is a former Prime Minister and freedom fighter whose political journey started with Congress but after differences with Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi, he formed his own party and became the first non-Congress CM of UP. Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao was also a Congressman and was a strong opponent of the BJP’s ideology.
What is this 5M formula?
In such a situation, the question arises that why did PM Modi give the country’s highest decoration to personalities with different ideologies in an election year and is there any political hint or formula hidden behind it.
If we ponder deeply, we find that PM Modi has taken this step keeping the 2024 elections in mind. Behind this lies his 5M mantra and formula. The 5M formula behind awarding Bharat Ratna means Mandal, Mandir, Mandi, Market and Millets.
Mandal Mantra from Karpuri Thakur
In Indian politics, the use of the word Mandal has become synonymous with OBC vote bank. By giving Bharat Ratna to former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, PM Modi, himself an OBC leader, has tried to help the backward castes, especially the extremely backward castes, on a large scale.
Thakur himself belonged to the barber caste, which has been an oppressed and deprived section of the society. Before Modi, a large part of the OBC class had been avoiding voting for BJP, but since the 2014 elections, the OBC class has been inclined towards BJP.
By giving the highest honor to Karpoori Thakur just before the 2024 elections, PM Modi has not only brought Nitish Kumar to his side in Bihar, but has also made a dent in the EBC vote bank of the so-called social justice parties in the surrounding states.
Temple mantra in the name of Lal Krishna Advani
Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been synonymous with the Ram Mandir movement in the country. In September 1990, he took out Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya but the then Lalu Yadav government in Bihar arrested him in October 1990.
Now that the grand Ram temple has been constructed in Ayodhya and Ram Lalla has been seated there, then by giving Bharat Ratna to Advani, not only his sacrifice, dedication and hard work has been honored but an attempt has also been made to give the message that Whoever works in the interest of the country will sooner or later be respected. Efforts have also been made to harness the Hindutva wave.
Market targeted on the pretext of Chaudhary Charan Singh
Mandi means the farmers’ market, their produce, farming and the entire farming tradition. Former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh was called the messiah of farmers, who had clashed with the country’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru on the issue of implementing cooperative farming in the country and vehemently opposed cooperative farming.
While being a minister in UP, Choudhary Saheb had abolished the Zamindari system and provided land ownership rights to the farmers.
He had also abolished the Patwari system. He was a true advocate of farmers. Chaudhary Saheb has been a universally accepted and undisputed leader among Jat voters and farmer voters in about half a dozen nearby states including Western Uttar Pradesh. By giving him this honour, apart from including RLD in NDA, an attempt has also been made to cool the fire of the farmers’ movement.
market mantra from narasimha rao
PV Narasimha Rao, who was the Prime Minister of the country from 1991 to 1996, had implemented economic liberalization during his tenure. He is also called the father of Indian economic reforms. Rao, along with his Finance Minister Manmohan Singh, had brought the Indian economy back on track.
He opened the doors of foreign investment in the country and made several reforms to regulate the domestic market. By giving Bharat Ratna to Rao, PM Modi has tried to respect and attract the neglected people of the economy and its related market system, corporate world as well as Congress towards himself.
Swaminathan i.e. Millets
Agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan is considered the father of Green Revolution in India. He gave new strength to the country when it had just become independent and there was a food crisis. At that time we had to import rice, wheat, pulses and other grains from abroad and the government kept an eye on the ports.
Swaminathan not only made India self-reliant in food grains by inventing new varieties of crops but today India is exporting grains to foreign countries.
Today, when the whole world is again emphasizing on millets, by honoring Swaminathan, PM Modi has boosted the morale of farmers and agricultural scientists as well as researchers and has realized the effort of including them in the definition of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Have done.
