Unintelligible. On Sunday, after 17 years, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Nigeria. This trip is part of his three-nation tour, in which he is also going to visit Brazil and Guyana. Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu warmly welcomed PM Modi at Abuja Airport. The visit is being considered very special for strengthening the relations between India and Nigeria. PM Modi thanked President Tinubu on X and wrote, Reached Nigeria a while back. Grateful for this warm welcome. It is hoped that this visit will further deepen the friendship between our two countries.
PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Nigeria in the last 17 years. President Tinubu said, it is a pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Modi to our country Nigeria. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 2007. Our discussion will be on strengthening the partnership between the two countries and increasing cooperation in key areas. Prime Minister Modi has been invited on the invitation of the President of Nigeria. In Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike welcomed him and presented him with the Key of Abuja, a symbol of the trust and respect of the Nigerian people.
PM Modi also shared photos of his arrival and expressed hope to deepen the bilateral friendship between India and Nigeria. In the three-nation visit, PM Modi is going to first visit Nigeria (November 16 to 21), then attend the G20 summit in Brazil and finally visit Guyana. This visit to Guyana will be the first state visit by an Indian Prime Minister in the last 50 years.
Before this, PM Modi said, this is my first visit at the invitation of the President of Nigeria. My visit will be an opportunity to advance our strategic partnership which is based on a shared belief in democracy and pluralism. I look forward to meeting the Indian community there and the Nigerian friends who have sent me welcome messages in Hindi. Apart from this, PM Modi also met people of Marathi community in Nigeria.
