After winning the presidential election, Donald Trump met President Joe Biden in the Oval Office of the White House on Wednesday and during this, both the leaders pledged for a smooth transfer of power as per American tradition.
In a brief meeting, both the leaders assured the country of a peaceful transfer of power on January 20 next year.
Biden welcomed Trump and the two leaders shook hands.
Biden congratulated Trump on his victory and said he looked forward to a smooth transition of power.
“Politics is hard and in many ways it’s not a very nice world, but it’s a nice world today, and I appreciate that very much,” Trump said. “This transition is very seamless and it will be as seamless as possible.”
Earlier, newly elected US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Tesla owner Elon Musk and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ or DOGE.
“I am pleased to announce that Elon Musk, along with fellow American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),” Trump announced.
