Preparations to start expansion project in 5 plants including BSP before Lok Sabha elections…

SAIL aims to reach its production capacity of 500 lakh tonnes by 2035.

For this, expansion project of five integrated units including BSP is being started. The cell management is preparing to initiate the Lok Sabha elections with the Prime Minister.

SAIL Chairman Amarendru Prakash’s visit to Bokaro is being linked to this.

Because after the completion of the project, it will become the flagship unit of SAIL of BSL. SAIL will complete the expansion project in two phases. In the first phase, those units have been included where there is no problem regarding the implementation of the scheme.

For example, availability of free space in the plant premises itself for setting up blast furnace and mill. Where there is a problem, such units have been included in the second phase of the project.

In which BSP is also included. Because the speed with which SMS 1 should be dismantled along with the closed Furnaces 2 and 3 has not been done yet.

Due to which there is a problem of space for setting up new furnaces and mills. Although the BSP management has started the work of demolishing the closed units, it is likely to take a long time.

This is the reason why in the first phase of the project, preparations are being made to increase the production capacity by upgrading the old units only.

The first phase is targeted to be completed in 6 years. The expansion project of various units of SAIL will be completed in two phases. The first phase is targeted to be completed in 2030 and the second phase in 2035. One lakh 10 thousand crores will be spent on this. In which the company itself will invest Rs 55 thousand crore. The remaining amount will be arranged through bank loan and other items.

SAIL and other companies are preparing to increase production to 300 MT by 2030. India has registered a 42% increase in crude steel production from 88.98 million tonnes (MT) in 2014-15 to 126.26 MT per annum (MT) in 2022-23. MTP) is done.

Now there is a plan to increase it to 300 MTP by 2030 by combining the production of various public and private sector companies including SAIL. Keeping the same goal in mind, SAIL Center is going to increase the production capacity of its various units.
