President Murmu reached the highest battle field, boosted the morale of the soldiers

New Delhi. The country’s Honorable President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday reached the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Base Camp. She encouraged the soldiers deployed there and paid tribute at the Siachen War Memorial. Operation Meghdoot on the Siachen Glacier was started by the Indian Army on April 13, 1984 and this war memorial is a symbol of the sacrifice of all the martyrs who lost their lives in this operation.
Addressing the soldiers, President Murmu said that my wish to come here and meet all of you soldiers and officers has been fulfilled today. I am feeling very happy to meet all of you. As the supreme commander of the three armies, I am proud of all of you. All the countrymen salute your bravery. She further said that some time ago I got the opportunity to pay tribute at the martyrs’ memorial site. I pay my respectful homage to the sacred memory of all those brave Siachen Warriors who sacrificed their lives to protect the motherland.
While praising the soldiers, the President said that you face complex weather, heavy snowfall and remain deployed with full devotion in difficult conditions like minus 50 degree temperature. You set an example of extraordinary sacrifice and tolerance to protect the motherland. The whole country respects all of you. He also praised the families of the soldiers, who contribute to the protection of the countrymen while staying away from their loved ones. While wishing all the soldiers and their families, the President said that I pray that all of you remain healthy and your family members remain happy.
