Mathura . A shocking incident took place in the temple of Govardhan in Mathura. Dinesh Chand, a priest at the Mukut Mukharbind temple in Govardhan, Mathura, is accused of absconding with Rs 1 crore 9 lakh. He had left to deposit this money in the bank, but neither reached the bank nor returned to the temple. His phone is also switched off. Temple manager Chandra Vinod Kaushik lodged a complaint in the police station, after which Govardhan police and temple administration have started searching for him.
So far no trace of priest Dinesh Chand has been found in this case, and the police have intensified their search for him. The incident has created a stir in the local community, and people are surprised how the priest could abscond with such a huge amount of money. Temple manager Chandra Vinod Kaushik had said that on Monday, sevayat Dinesh Chand had gone to deposit the temple’s contract amount of about one crore 9 lakh rupees in Union Bank of India.
