नई दिल्ली । प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2036 में होने वाले ओलंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी के लिए भारत के संकल्प को दोहराते हुए गुरुवार को कहा कि देश इस खेल महाकुंभ के आयोजन के लिए तैयारी कर रहा है। पीएम मोदी ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर लाल किले की प्राचीर से अपने संबोधन के दौरान वहां उपस्थित ओलंपिक विजेताओं का उल्लेख किया। पीएम मोदी ने कहा, 'हिंदुस्तान का सपना है कि 2036 में जो ओलंपिक हों, वह हिंदुस्तान की धरती पर हों। उसके लिए हम तैयारी कर रहे हैं, आगे बढ़ रहे हैं।' भारत ने पिछले साल मुंबई में आयोजित किए गए अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (आइओसी) के सम्मेलन के दौरान ओलंपिक मेजबानी की अपनी इच्छा व्यक्त की थी। अगले साल आईओसी के अध्यक्ष का चुनाव होना है और उसके बाद ही 2036 के ओलंपिक खेलों के मेजबान का फैसला लिए जाने की संभावना हैं।
Los Angeles will host the Olympic Games 2028 while Brisbane will host the Olympic Games in 2032. India has not yet clarified which city it will claim to host the Olympics. On this occasion, PM Modi also congratulated the Indian players who performed well in the Paris Olympic Games. India won a total of six medals including one silver and five bronze medals in these recently concluded games.
He said, ‘Today, those youngsters are sitting with us under the tricolour flag who have raised the flag of India in the world of Olympics. I congratulate all the players of my country on behalf of 140 crore countrymen. We will move towards new goals with new dreams, new resolve and hard work.’ The Prime Minister also congratulated the Indian players for the Paralympics. The Paralympics will be held in Paris from August 28. He said that the G-20 summit proved that India is capable of organising the biggest events.
