Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday offered prayers at the Jagadamba temple of Pohradevi in Washim, Maharashtra. After this he also tried his hand on the traditional drum present in the temple. After inaugurating various projects in Washim, Maharashtra, he said that the Banjara community has played an important role in nation building. In fact, Banjara community plays an important role in the politics of Maharashtra in terms of votes. According to statistics, the population of Banjaras in Maharashtra is about 6 percent of the total population.
