Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has filed nomination for the Wayanad by-election.
Now Bharatiya Janata Party has raised questions on his income. The party has asked what was the source of income for purchasing the land that Vadra has purchased.
The Congress General Secretary has declared assets worth more than Rs 12 crore. She is going to start her electoral innings from this by-election.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari while talking to ANI asked, ‘…the question is what is the source of Priyanka Vadra’s income? Also, Priyanka Vadra’s party is the party which exploits the Indian stock market.
This is the same Vadra family, which had invested in the stocks of big business houses and invested in mutual funds. The question is why there is this hypocrisy in Vadra and the Vadra family.
He said, ‘The people of India are asking Vadra that as per the affidavit, he had purchased the land in 2013. The price of that land has increased 5 times.
What source of income did they have to buy that land? Is Vadra ji involved in dubious land deals like her husband? Was Vadra ji working closely with her husband when Mr. Vadra was involved in shady deals in NCR?

In her nomination papers, Priyanka has also declared a total income of over Rs 46.39 lakh in the financial year 2023-2024, which includes rental income and interest from banks and other investments.
Giving details of her assets and liabilities in the affidavit filed with the nomination papers, Priyanka Gandhi said she has movable assets worth more than Rs 4.24 crore, which include deposits of different amounts in three bank accounts, mutual funds and PPF. The investments include a Honda CRV car gifted by her husband Robert Vadra and 4400 grams (gross) gold worth Rs 1.15 crore.
His immovable properties worth over Rs 7.74 crore include two portions of agricultural land he inherited in the Mehrauli area of New Delhi and a half share in a farmhouse building located there, the total value of which is now over Rs 2.10 crore.
Additionally, as per his affidavit, he owns a self-acquired residential property in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the current value of which is more than Rs 5.63 crore.
Priyanka has also given details of her husband’s movable and immovable properties in her affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Robert Vadra has movable assets worth more than Rs 37.9 crore and immovable assets worth more than Rs 27.64 crore.
Priyanka holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies through distance learning from a UK university and a BA Honors degree in Psychology from Delhi University. He has liabilities of Rs 15.75 lakh.
Her affidavit states that she is also facing income tax reassessment proceedings for assessment year 2012-13, according to which she has to pay more than Rs 15 lakh as tax.
