Putin breaks silence on Russia’s terrorist attack, announces national mourning tomorrow; Total 143 deaths…

The death toll in Friday’s terrorist attack on a concert hall in the Russian capital Moscow has increased to 143 while more than 100 people are injured.

Russia’s Investigative Committee gave this information on Saturday. The committee said emergency services were continuing to clear debris from the Crocus City Hall in Moscow Oblast – the site of the terrorist attack – as more bodies were found there.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday described the Moscow concert hall attack as a barbaric terrorist act. He also declared a day of mourning in the country on 24 March.

“I am speaking to you today in connection with a bloody, barbaric terrorist act, the victims of which were dozens of innocent, peaceful people,” the Russian president said in a televised address to the nation. I declare March 24 as a national mourning day.”

The committee that conducted the initial inspection after the attack said that the terrorists used abandoned ammunition as well as automatic weapons in the concert hall. The committee said that ballistic, genetic and fingerprint investigations are being done.

The committee also said that it has been established that the terrorists had used flammable liquids to set the compound on fire.

Russian intelligence agencies have detained 11 people, four of whom are said to be terrorists, in connection with the investigation into the attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall. It is believed that all of them were directly involved in the Crocus City Hall attack.

The terrorist organization Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the shooting and bombing at the Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow. A shooting broke out at the Crocus City Hall concert venue outside Moscow, followed by a massive fire.

According to preliminary data, several armed men opened fire at the concert venue.

Russia registered a case of terrorist attack
Russia’s Investigative Committee has filed a criminal case into the terrorist attack. The committee said that important evidence, including arms and ammunition, was recovered from the scene of the incident at the Crocus City Hall, which is under investigation and the camera recordings are being studied.

The terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted by its Amaq news agency, saying its fighters had attacked the outskirts of Moscow.

Hundreds of people were killed and many were injured in this incident.
