Two American officials have told CNN about this. This development has attracted America’s attention and now American officials are trying to find out how many soldiers Russia has withdrawn from Ukraine.
Several brigades made up of 1000 soldiers have now been sent to Kursk in Russia. Ukraine attacked here last week. US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said on Thursday, ‘It is clear that Putin and the Russian army are sending some units towards Kursk Oblast. There is still active fighting going on on those fronts to fight Ukraine.’ Kirby has made it clear that the departure of Russian troops from Ukraine does not mean that Putin has stopped military operations in places like the north-eastern part of Ukraine or Zaporizhia in the south. Fighting is still going on on those fronts.
America is also surprised along with Russia
Initially, when Ukraine attacked Russia, it was considered a fabricated attempt to humiliate Putin. But Russia has shown by withdrawing troops from Ukraine that it is having a strategic impact. However, this depends on how long Ukraine is able to occupy Russian territory.
