Dhaka. Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh started after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government in Dhaka, which are still continuing. The interim government of Bangladesh has remained a mute spectator. Neither cases are being filed nor arrests or any action is being taken. Despite the claims and assurances of security by the head of the caretaker government in Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, the attacks on Hindus are not stopping. Islamic fundamentalists have attacked the Hindu hostel of Dhaka College and damaged the temple and idols. During the attack, the idols of the Hindu temple located in the western part of the hostel were broken and valuables were stolen.
According to the report, there have been attacks on houses and temples of Hindu community at more than 250 places. Hindu community has demonstrated in different parts of the country in protest against the attacks. Amid the increasing attacks on Hindus, the head of the caretaker government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, visited the famous Dhakeshwari Devi temple in the capital Dhaka last week. During this, Mohammad Yunus met the members of the Hindu community and promised their safety. During this, he said that everyone has equal rights in the country. He asked the students leading the movement to ensure the safety of Hindus in the country. Last Friday, Mohammad Yunus called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and informed him about the condition of minorities in Bangladesh. During this, Professor Yunus assured New Delhi of the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh.
