Congress paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary on Tuesday. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi reached ‘Shakti Sthal’ and offered floral tributes at Indira Gandhi’s memorial. Rahul made an emotional post on ‘X’ and described his grandmother as an example of courage and love. At the same time, Priyanka paid tribute to her grandmother by mentioning caste-based census and increasing the reservation limit from 50 percent.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “Grandma was an example of both courage and love. It is from her that I have learned that fearlessly walking on the path of national interest is the real strength. Her memories are my strength, which always shows me the path.” Priyanka Gandhi said that by demanding caste based census and increasing the reservation limit from 50 percent, she is taking forward the ideas of Indira Gandhi. He said, “My grandmother Smt. Indira Gandhi always used to start her election campaign from Nandurbar in Maharashtra. She believed that the culture of tribal society is the best and unique because it respects and conserves nature.”
Kharge posted on A heartfelt tribute to.” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Today is the 107th birth anniversary of a powerful woman who not only birthed history but also shaped history in many ways.” He further said, “Indira Gandhi gave new impetus to Indian science and technology, especially in agriculture, space, nuclear energy and defence.”
Let us tell you that Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 in Prayagraj. She was the Prime Minister of the country from 1966 to March 1977. After this, she once again became Prime Minister in 1980. He was assassinated on 31 October 1984.
