To save the nearby archaeological heritage, a museum will be built in Arang at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.

An amount of Rs 5 lakh will be given every year for the grand event of Raja Mordhwaj Mahotsav.

Culture Minister Brijmohan Agarwal announced at the closing ceremony of Raja Mordhwaj Mahotsav that Arang will now be known as Raja Mordhwaj Nagar.

He said that a museum would be built in Arang at a cost of Rs 25 lakh to preserve the archaeological remains scattered in Arang and surrounding areas.

He also announced to give Rs 5 lakh every year to give a grand look to Raja Mordhwaj Mahotsav.

While addressing, Culture Minister Agarwal said that the life of King Mordhwaj gives us many lessons. If we follow the path of religion and remain true to our promises, God will also support us.

He said that King Mordhwaj was a just and pious king. Who, to keep his promise, got his son cut with a saw, due to which the city got the name Arang.

On the closing occasion, local artists staged a drama enlivening the dialogue between King Mordhwaj and Lord Krishna which won everyone’s heart.

The festival was organized under the guidance of MLA Guru Khushwant Saheb.

A large number of local people including MLA Anuj Sharma, Krishna Kumar Bhardwaj, Rajendra Chandrakar, Mrs. Lakshmi Verma, Narang, Kiran, tourism department officials were present in the program.
