Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the ‘Vikas Bharat Vikas Chhattisgarh’ program organized at Indoor Stadium in Raipur through video conferencing.

He also highlighted the efforts of the government to make Chhattisgarh a hub of solar energy and the 100 MW AC/155 MW DC solar power project constructed at a cost of Rs 907 crore in 451 acres of barren land in Rajnandgaon district which will generate electricity to the surrounding areas even during night. Has the capacity to supply electricity, dedicated it to the state. Also inaugurated 50 MW Railway Solar Power Plant at Charoda-Bhilai at a cost of Rs 280 crore.

Chief guest of the program was Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. It was presided over by Tourism and Culture Minister Brijmohan Agarwal.

Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and State Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and senior officials along with a large number of common citizens also participated in the program.

While giving information about ‘PM-Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is making every house a Surya Ghar and the government is trying to reduce the electricity bills of the consumers to zero, under which a free electricity scheme will be provided across the country. A target has been set to cover crore houses.

He told that the government will provide help for installing solar energy panels on the roof of the house and will send money directly to the bank accounts. With this, up to 300 units of electricity will be available free of cost and the excess electricity produced will be bought back by the government, which will provide thousands of rupees of income to families every year and will also provide employment opportunities at the local level.

The Prime Minister also stressed on transforming Annadata into Urjadata by helping farmers set up small-scale solar plants in barren lands.

The projects being inaugurated today will create new opportunities for the people of Chhattisgarh.
