Rakshabandhan has become very special; Super Blue Moon will be seen in the sky, will the moon really turn blue…

A very special astronomical event is going to happen on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

According to NASA, Super Blue Moon is going to be seen on this day. This rare sight will be clearly visible from Earth on August 19.

The special thing is that it can be seen for the next three days. Starting from this Sunday till Wednesday, you will witness this astronomical event.

Apart from this, the remaining three super moons are also going to be visible this year. One of these will be visible on September 17, which is known as Harvest Moon.

Hunter Moon will be visible for the second time on October 17. Similarly, Beaver Moon will be visible on the full moon of November 15.

Raksha Bandhan is also known as Rakhi Purnima which is celebrated on the full moon day. This year’s Raksha Bandhan festival is going to be very special because the Super Blue Moon will also be seen on this day.

This coincidence becomes even more special for Indians.

NASA scientists said that the latest Super Blue Moon can be seen easily. You can see it from your rooftop or courtyard. The surface of the moon can also be seen with the help of a telescope.

Will the moon appear blue?

Let us tell you that the term Super Moon was coined by astrologer Richard Noll in the year 1979. Actually, when there are 2 full moons in a calendar month, the second full moon is called Blue Moon.

Even though it is called Blue Moon, it is not actually blue.

This is the traditional name for the second full moon in a month.

During a Super Blue Moon, both the Blue Moon and the Super Moon combine to light up the sky with a large and bright moon. This phenomenon occurs when the Moon is closest to Earth during its orbit.

In such a situation it appears bigger and brighter. Experts say that sometimes smoke or dust particles in the air scatter the red wavelength of light.

Due to this, the moon appears more blue than usual in some places. However, this phenomenon has nothing to do with the Super Blue Moon.
