Rameshwaram Cafe opened 8 days after the bomb blast, ex-servicemen will help in security; Where is the suspect hiding?…

The city’s popular restaurant Rameshwaram Cafe reopened amid tight security on Saturday, a week after the blast.

Strict security arrangements have been made to ensure that no untoward incident happens in future. Ten people were injured in the blast at the cafe a week ago. The café reopened this morning, 8 days after the bomb blast.

Raghavendra Rao, co-founder of Rameshwaram Cafe, said that the help of ex-servicemen will be taken for the security of the cafe. Speaking to news agency ANI, Raghavendra said, “We are taking all security measures to avoid such incidents in future. We are further strengthening our security team. We are also trying to form a panel of ex-servicemen to train our security guards.”

‘No matter what happens, no one can stop us’

According to the administration, metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the cafe to check customers. The cafe staff will check the customers coming here with the help of metal detectors. All customers will be closely monitored and staff will keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

Raghavendra Rao, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Rameshwaram Cafe, said, “Whatever happened… should not have happened. This is a lesson for us to be strong. No matter what happens, no one can stop us.”

A day earlier he had said, “They (the attackers) wanted to teach us a lesson but we will teach them a lesson.” With the blessings of Lord Shiva we have reopened our cafe on the occasion of Mahashivratri. We will reopen the restaurant for customers tomorrow with the national anthem.”

The café was decorated with flowers and a morning puja was performed before opening. Police remained deployed there the whole day. 10 people, including a cafe employee, were injured in the blast on March 1 and all of them are recovering.

NIA releases video of suspect, reward of Rs 10 lakh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday released a video of the suspect linked to the Bengaluru Rameshwaram cafe blast case and sought cooperation from citizens in identifying him. NIA asked citizens to call or email 08029510900, 8904241100 if they have any information about the suspect. “His identity will remain confidential,” the NIA said.

Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for anyone providing information about the suspected attacker in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. Attaching the photograph of the attacker, the NIA said, “Wanted in the Rameshwaram cafe bomb blast case. A reward of Rs 10 lakh will be given for any information leading to his arrest. The identity of the person giving information will be kept secret.”
