Recruitment module of new terrorist organization destroyed by security forces

Jammu. The recruitment module of a new terrorist organization was dismantled on Tuesday after raids were conducted in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This new group, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was reportedly being run by a Pakistani terrorist handler, better known by his alias Baba Hamas. According to media, the raids in the Union Territory were carried out by the Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Officials said that security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have busted a new terrorist organization on Tuesday. It is believed that he is a part of the banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Officials said the Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a major operation in which raids were conducted in several districts including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag and Pulwama.

Officials said the organization was allegedly being run by a Pakistani terrorist handler named Baba Hamas. He said that the raid is still going on. The counter-terrorism operation came a day after another LeT outfit, The Resistance Front (TRF), reportedly claimed responsibility for an attack in Ganderbal district in which a doctor and six migrant laborers were killed. According to security forces, TRF chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul was the mastermind of the attack. Sources said that this group has been targeting Kashmiris and non-Kashmiris for a long time.

In 2022, the NIA had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for information leading to the arrest of Gul and three others. On October 30, a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police captured two terrorists, identified as Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain. There have been several terrorist attacks in the Union Territory in the last few months, some of which have also claimed the lives of security personnel. Many terrorists have been killed in the encounter.
