Five regional parties Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Biju Janata Dal and YSR Congress raised a total of Rs 1,243 crore through electoral bonds in 2022-23. This information has come to light in the annual audit report.

Earlier in 2021-22, these parties had jointly received Rs 1,338 crore. This time BRS has received the highest number of electoral bonds among these 5 parties.

Of the total donations received by Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC, the share of electoral bonds was 97%, that of DMK was 86%, that of BJD was 84%, that of YSR Congress was 70%, and that of BRS was 71%.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has now become a national party which got electoral bonds of Rs 36.4 crore in 2021-22. Its total income increased from Rs 44.5 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 85.2 crore in 2022-23.

AAP’s annual expenditure increased from Rs 30.3 crore to Rs 102 crore. The annual audit report has been submitted to the Election Commission on behalf of 5 regional parties. According to this, the highest income of Rs 737.7 crore was declared by BRS.

In 2021-22 this amount was only Rs 218 crore. TMC has declared its income as Rs 333.4 crore which earlier was Rs 545.7 crore. DMK reported income of Rs 214.3 crore which was Rs 318.7 crore in 2021-22.

TMC said the highest expenditure
If we talk about BJD, it declared income of Rs 181 crore for 2022-23 which was earlier Rs 307 crore. At the same time, there has been a decline in the electoral bonds received by YSR Congress this time, which currently has an income of Rs 74.8 crore.

In 2021-22 this amount was Rs 93.7 crore. Apart from this, it was told by TMC that it spent Rs 181 crore in 2022-23.

YSR Congress spent Rs 79.3 crore and BRS spent Rs 57.5 crore. Whereas, DMK has spent Rs 52.6 crore and BJD has spent Rs 9.9 crore.
