Railway Board has made a new amendment in the rules of ticket booking. Till now any passenger had the facility to book tickets 120 days before his journey. Railway Board has reduced this time period to half i.e. 60 days. Railway Board Director (Passenger Marketing) Sanjay Mooncha has issued an order in this regard.
When will the new rules come into effect?
Under the order issued, passengers will continue to get the facility to book tickets for 120 days of travel till 31 October 2024. The new system will be effective from November 1, 2024. However, this rule will not be valid for tourists coming from abroad.
Old rules will remain applicable for these trains
They can book their tickets 365 days in advance of travel. Apart from this, if a previously booked ticket is cancelled, it can also be canceled 60 days in advance. At the same time, the rules of Taj Express and Gomti Express will remain the same. No changes of any kind have been made in this.
