Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, who is contesting the US presidential race, said on Friday that he is giving up his candidature in support of Republican candidate Donald Trump. He also said that he does not want to help Democratic candidate Kamala Harris by staying in the election fray.
He said his supporters could continue to back him in most states where they were unlikely to influence the outcome.
Kennedy took steps this weekend to withdraw his candidacy in at least two states, Arizona and Pennsylvania. Kennedy said the move came after conversations with Donald Trump over the past few weeks.
