Amid the increasingly fierce Ukraine-Russia war, on Saturday both countries released 230 each other’s captured soldiers.
115-115 soldiers have been released from both sides. Ukrainian President Zelensky gave information about this exchange taking place under the mediation of the United Arab Emirates through his social media platform.
Ukrainian President shared the picture of the soldiers who returned home and wrote that our 115 soldiers have returned home. These soldiers of ours are our protectors.
We remember every single soldier of ours and we are making every effort to bring them all back. I thank the UAE for helping in this homecoming of soldiers.
On this exchange of soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry said that through negotiations, our 115 Russian soldiers have been freed from Ukrainian captivity today. Our freed soldiers are currently staying in Belarus where they are being treated. When this process is completed, they will return to their homeland.
Exchange of soldiers took place for the seventh time since the war started
This is the seventh exchange of troops between Russia and Ukraine since the war began. Both countries have thanked the UAE for this.
UAE issued a statement on this and said that we have successfully exchanged prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia.
This was the first exchange since Ukraine took an aggressive stance in the war. Both countries have handled it peacefully.
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ukraine. Here he met President Zelensky. PM Modi also gave four Bhishma camps to Ukraine which can work as a portable hospital.
PM Modi went to Ukraine and said that India has always been in favor of peace and we believe that no issue can be resolved through war.
We will have to come to the negotiating table for peace. Regarding India’s purchase of Russian oil, Zelensky said that if India and other countries together stop buying Russian oil, then Russia will easily become weak and come to the negotiating table and this war will stop.
Putin does not respect PM Modi because when PM Modi went on a visit to Moscow, at the same time Russian army attacked a children’s hospital in Ukraine and killed children.
During this, PM Modi also invited Zelensky to visit India.
