Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he is grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his concern regarding the war in Ukraine.
Speaking to the media here, when he was asked whether he saw a role for India in the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, he referred to his conversation with Modi and called him (Modi) his ‘friend’ and said that His country is grateful for this.
Putin said it was difficult to set a deadline for ending the war.
He blamed America and NATO for pushing Russia into war and said that his country would be victorious.
He said that the Russian military has become one of the most effective and high-tech armies in the world and that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will “get tired of waging this war against us.” In his statement a few weeks ago, Putin Said that Russia is in touch with India, China and Brazil on this issue.
During this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the BRICS group is not against Western countries, but due to its size and rapid development, it will become a major source of global economic growth in the coming years.
He said, “BRICS was never intended against anyone. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that BRICS is a non-Western group, not an anti-Western group.”
On the Ukraine conflict, Putin said, “Russia is interested in resolving it peacefully. “We did not stop the talks, but the Ukrainian side did.”
Putin also said that Prime Minister Modi constantly raises this issue in his talks with him and Russia appreciates his concern. Putin said, “During his talks with Prime Minister Modi every time he raises this issue and expresses his views. We are grateful for his efforts.”
When Putin was asked whether Russia would encourage film production for BRICS member countries, he mentioned the popularity of Indian films in Russia.
Putin told that there is a TV channel in Russia which shows only Indian films.
He said, “We have a TV channel dedicated to Indian films and we also organize BRICS Film Festival. If Indian filmmakers are interested, we can find common ground to promote them in Russia.”
