The bloody war going on between Ukraine and Russia will complete three years on 22nd February.

Ukraine has not accepted defeat in this war nor has Russia decided to withdraw its army. Amidst the ongoing bloody war with Ukraine, Russia fears a nuclear attack on itself.

This is the reason why the Ministry of Education of Russia has started a new curriculum in all the schools across the country. Under this subject, children are being taught how to protect themselves if a nuclear attack occurs.

Apart from this, training in throwing bombs and using weapons is being given. According to the report, this course will be started in all the schools across the country from the coming month of September.

Newsweek reports that how to survive a nuclear attack has been included in the curriculum in Russian schools. A new curriculum has been included in the books – Fundamentals of Defense and Security of the Motherland. In this new subject it will be taught that how to survive if there is a nuclear attack? According to the report, it has been decided to start this course in all the schools across the country in the month of September. This report has been presented quoting documents from the Ministry of Education of Russia.

How to survive a nuclear attack or a biological attack?
As part of the curriculum, Russian children will be trained on how to protect themselves in the event of a nuclear war breaking out amid the conflict in Ukraine. Students will “learn about the harmful effects of weapons of mass destruction as well as ways to protect against them.”

Children will also be taught to protect themselves in emergency situations such as disasters and military threats following attacks by natural, man-made and biological weapons.

Basic military training, how to use hand grenades, how to provide first aid in battle and lessons on self-defense will also be included in the curriculum.

This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to introduce mandatory security and defense courses in schools across the country in August 2023 as part of a revamp of the national curriculum.

The revised curriculum will be taught in schools from September 1, 2024.
