Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his views regarding the development of eastern states.

Talking about the importance of the eastern states for India, the PM said that earlier these states were considered backward states but no, our government considers these states as the engine of development of the country.

Therefore, we are continuously working for the development of these states.

PM Modi, who was addressing the people at the Odisha festival in Delhi, said that Odisha has always been the land of saints and scholars.

The way the scholars here took our religious texts to every home and connected people with them, has played an important role in the cultural prosperity of India.

The PM said that earlier people considered states with such a great tradition as backward. But our government considers them as the engine of development of the country. Therefore, we have continuously given priority to the development of the eastern region.

The PM said that the budget we are allocating to Odisha is three times more than what it was 10 years ago. We are working rapidly in every field for the development of Odisha.

This year the budget has been increased by 30 percent. The Prime Minister said that the Central Government is committed to making business easier in Odisha. Investments worth Rs 45,000 crore have been approved within 100 days of the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state.

Talking about the famous places of Odisha, the PM said that last year the G20 summit was held in India. During the G20 summit we had shown the photo of the Sun Temple (in Konark).

I am also happy that all the four doors of Jagannath temple (in Puri) are now open. Apart from this, the gem store of the temple is also open.

Odisha Parv is a major event organized by an organization of Oriya community based in Delhi. Its main objective is to preserve and promote the Oriya cultural heritage.

This year, “Odisha Parv” was organized from 22nd November to 24th November to showcase the rich heritage of Odisha, showcase colorful cultural forms and showcase the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the state.
