SBI asked for more time to provide information about electoral bonds, Supreme Court had given the deadline of March 6…

State Bank of India (SBI) has sought more time to share the details of electoral bonds with the Election Commission.

SBI has filed an application in the Supreme Court regarding this. It was said that they need time till June 30 to provide information related to electoral bonds.

In fact, the Supreme Court had canceled the Electoral Bond Scheme last month. The court directed SBI to give all the information regarding electoral bonds to the Election Commission by March 6.

Now SBI says that 2,2217 electoral bonds have been issued between 12 April 2019 and 15 February 2024. These bonds were issued for donation to different political parties.

The bond was deposited in the branch located in Mumbai. There are 2 different information slots regarding this which have to be decoded.

After this it will be prepared. In this way information of 44 thousand 434 sets will have to be given. In such a situation, the timeline given by the Supreme Court is not sufficient. It should be extended till June 30.

Rahul Gandhi said – all pulses are black
Politics has heated up after SBI asked for more time regarding electoral bonds. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP government at the Center regarding this.

He posted on Twitter and said, “Narendra Modi has used all his strength to hide the ‘donation business’.

When the Supreme Court has said that it is the right of the countrymen to know the truth about electoral bonds, then why does SBI want this information not to be made public before the elections? Asking for time till 30th June for information that can be retrieved with one click shows that there is nothing black in the pulses, the entire pulses are black.

Every independent organization of the country is trying to cover up their corruption by becoming ‘Modani family’. This is the ‘last attempt’ to hide Modi’s ‘real face’ before the elections.”

SC had declared the electoral bond scheme unconstitutional
Let us tell you that the 5-member Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court had declared the electoral bond scheme related to political financing as unconstitutional.

The court believed that this scheme is a violation of Article 19(1)(A) of the Constitution and is unconstitutional. Also directed to disclose information about donations received from political parties.

The SC said SBI will submit to the Election Commission the details of electoral bonds purchased so far since the apex court’s interim order of April 12, 2019.

The details will include the date of purchase of each electoral bond, the name of the purchaser and the value of the electoral bond purchased. SBI was directed to submit this information to the Election Commission by March 6.

Also, the Commission will publish the information received from SBI on its official website by March 13.
