Cuttack. A doctor has been arrested for sexually assaulting two female patients at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. The victim women are the mother and aunt of a second year MBBS student. After the incident, MBBS students caught hold of Dilbagh Singh Thakur and beat him up. The accused doctor has been admitted to the ICU. The accused doctor Dilbagh Singh Thakur is 32 years old and hails from Madhya Pradesh. The accused is a senior resident doctor in the cardiology department. He is pursuing postdoctoral studies.
Thakur is accused of raping the patients when they visited him for examination of possible heart-related problems. A three-member committee headed by Odisha’s Director of Medical Education has been formed to investigate the matter.
