Bhajanlal Sharma became the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, while Mohan Yadav got the command of Madhya Pradesh.
In Chhattisgarh also, Vishnu Dev Sai has been made the CM, but here veteran Raman Singh has been given the post of Speaker.
Now the question is, what will happen to the two big leaders of the two big states of the Hindi belt i.e. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje Scindia? This leader, who held the post of CM for a long time, is currently only an MLA.
At present, BJP has not yet clarified what will be the future role of 70-year-old Raje and 63-year-old Chauhan. Both the leaders are very popular after holding the top post of the state for a long time. In such a situation, it is being said that BJP can give him a place in the party or the central government. It is believed that both the names were given initial impetus by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and senior leader Lal Krishna Advani.
In 1991, Vajpayee contested elections from Lucknow and Vidisha Lok Sabha seats and won both the seats. Later it was decided that he would leave Vidisha seat. After this, Chauhan’s name was put forward from Vidisha.
Will I get a place in the center?
Before coming to MP and Rajasthan, both Raje and Chauhan had held responsibilities in the Central Government. The Indian Express report quoted party insiders as saying that Raje was given a chance to join the Center in 2014, but he had refused.
However, now that BJP has handed over the command in both the states to new leaders, speculations have started regarding big names. According to the report, a BJP leader says that it is impossible to keep these veterans without workload.
He said, ‘He will not be kept without charge. What work will they get? Will they accept him or not? When will they get it? Can’t answer these questions right now. Our organization respects the workers and top leaders with big supporters will not be kept away from work. Whereas, it is also being said that if these leaders reject the new tasks given to them, then the high command may take time to take a decision. Also, the possibility of getting responsibility in the Central Government is not being ruled out.
Both leaders strong in MP-Rajasthan
Many MPs, MLAs and party leaders are seen with Raje in Rajasthan. At the same time, Chauhan, who has made the record of being CM for the longest period in MP, is very popular. In the 2018 elections, BJP lost in Rajasthan and MP. After this, after the withdrawal of BJP in 2020, the command of MP was again handed over to Chauhan.
Shivraj will not go to Delhi?
According to the report, senior party officials claim that comments made by Chauhan regarding future plans may displease the central leadership. According to Indian Express, he says that there are less chances that he will be given a chance in Delhi now.
Chouhan said in response to a question from reporters here, ‘I wanted to say humbly that I would rather die than go to (Delhi) and ask for something for myself.’ Last week, amidst speculation over the next Chief Minister, Chouhan had said that he would not go to Delhi and claimed that he was never in the race for the top post in the state.
Chauhan said on Tuesday, ‘When a person is self-centered, he thinks only about himself. But BJP is a mission, there is some work for every worker. Whatever work is assigned to me, I will do.
