Shimla. All street vendors and food establishments in Himachal Pradesh have been directed to prominently display the names of owners and staff members. This move is being seen as following in the footsteps of the Yogi Adityanath government. The Yogi government has said that the aim of the decision is to bring cleanliness and hygiene in food shops.
Himachal’s Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh, while briefing the media on Wednesday, said that the state government has taken a decision similar to that of Uttar Pradesh to ensure people have access to clean and hygienic food. Vikramaditya said, “The Urban Development Ministry and the Municipal Corporation in a meeting took this decision collectively keeping in mind the fears and apprehensions of the people about the availability of food at food stalls. We have decided to strictly implement the rules in the state like Uttar Pradesh.”
