After huge upheaval in Bihar’s seat, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made a prediction regarding Lok Sabha 2024.
Siddaramaiah said on Sunday that Congress will win 15 to 20 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.
There are a total of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. Speaking to reporters here, Siddaramaiah said, “The Congress party will win about 20 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. We do not lie like the BJP, which is claiming to win all 28 seats in the state.
We think we can win 15 to 20 seats.” In response to a question, he said, “We have conducted some surveys.”
The BJP had won 25 seats in Karnataka in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while a BJP-backed independent candidate (Sumalatha Ambareesh from Mandya) won one seat.
Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) won one seat each. Congress and JD(S) were in alliance during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while this time JD(S) has formed an alliance with BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Siddaramaiah noted that earlier when he was the chief minister, the Socio-Economic and Education Survey report, known as the caste-based enumeration, was not ready.
He said that after this a coalition government led by HD Kumaraswamy was formed, but Kumaraswamy, as the then Chief Minister, did not accept the report. Even the BJP that came to power did not accept it. Now if the report is submitted then the Siddaramaiah government will accept it.
