The way Israel entered Iran and killed Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh made it clear once again that Israel can kill its enemy at any time and from anywhere.
Israel had hidden a bomb in the guest house in Tehran where Haniyeh was murdered two months ago. They blew it up when they got the chance.
Now Yahya Sinwar, who was deputy to the Hamas chief, has been crowned and according to Israel, with this the countdown of Sinwar’s life has also begun.
Israeli Foreign Minister Katz said Sinwar’s coronation was a harbinger of his death, which would come soon.
The Israeli government believes that Yahma Sinwar was the main culprit behind the massacre that took place on its soil on 7 October last year.
Sinwar runs the Hamas network in Gaza. After Haniyeh, he is the supreme leader of Hamas. After Haniyeh’s death, Sinwar was also crowned on Tuesday.
Israel has now vowed to eliminate Sinwar. This is not the first time, however, Sinwar has been Israel’s target since the beginning of the 11-month-long war.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a military base on Wednesday that Israel was, is and will always be “resolute” in defending itself.
In his message to the newly recruited soldiers in the army, he said that we are ready to protect our own people and destroy the enemies.
Where is Sinwar hidden
The Israeli army believes that Sinwar is hiding inside a tunnel in Gaza. Therefore, the Israeli army is still continuing its operation in Gaza. Sinwar has been the leader of Hamas in Gaza since 2017.
He has not been seen in public since the October 7 attack. On October 7, at his behest, Hamas operatives first rained bombs on Israel and then unleashed a massive massacre.
At least 2,000 Israelis were killed in the incident. A senior Hamas official told AFP that Sinwar’s selection sent a message that the organization “continues its path of resistance”.
Sinwar has hatred for Israelis in his heart
Haniyeh is believed to be leading Hamas politically rather than through war. Haniyeh played an important role in mediating between Israel and Hamas.
On the contrary, Sinwar has been advocating war. This is the reason why Sinwar has never been interested in a ceasefire with Israel.
However, analysts believe Sinwar is closer to the Tehran government than Haniyeh, who lives in Qatar.
