The protesters gave this information. A rally was taken out in North Waziristan district bordering Afghanistan to protest against the delay in the announcement of election results.

During this, former member of the National Assembly and President of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) Dawar and others were injured.

A protestor said the injured have been taken to hospital. According to the protesters, the police fired at the protesters and also fired tear gas shells.

Mohsin Dawar was a member of the National Assembly from August 2018 to August 2023. Dawar, co-founder of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has also been the president of the National Youth Organization (NYO) and the Pashtun Students Federation (PSF), an affiliate of the Awami National Party.

PTI’s local worker seriously injured
In a separate incident, a protest against election rigging took place in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Friday evening, Dawn News reported. During this, there was firing from the security personnel of the leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam group).

In this, a local worker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was seriously injured. PTI local workers took out a rally to protest against alleged rigging in the February 8 elections.

These people also took out a protest march towards the office of the District Election Officer (DRO).

Attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1 policeman and 3 terrorists killed
On the other hand, a police patrol vehicle was attacked in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In the encounter that followed, at least 3 terrorists were killed and a police officer lost his life.

Police said unidentified terrorists opened fire on a vehicle deployed on patrol duty in Darajinda area of ​​Dera Ismail Khan district of border South Waziristan.

A police officer lost his life in this, following which an encounter lasted for more than an hour. Police said that three attackers were killed during the encounter.

A large number of police personnel were sent to the spot to control the situation. An operation has been launched to trace the attackers.

Fear of vote manipulation
General elections were held in Pakistan on Thursday and counting of votes began soon after. It was expected that the counting results would be available by Friday morning but the announcement of the results is being delayed.

After this, the fear of vote manipulation has strengthened. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, out of 265 seats of the National Assembly, the counting process has been completed on 253 seats.

Independent candidates have won maximum 99 seats. Most of these candidates are supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
