Lima. At least six people drowned when a boat capsized in a river flowing through Peru’s east-central region of Ucayali. Six people have been confirmed dead in this incident. According to reports, the boat left the port of Pucallpa at 2:30 pm local time for the city of Atalaya, but crashed at around 1:30 pm on Wednesday.
According to officials, there were around 48 people on board the boat, including teachers and minors. The boat had a capacity to carry 68 passengers and was equipped with all safety requirements like life jackets.
