New Delhi. Passengers are not getting smart cards to pay fare at metro stations in Delhi. Due to which passengers traveling in metro are facing problems. It is being said that instead of smart cards, passengers are being given National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) at the stations. Many passengers traveling in the metro are not aware of this. It is being told that the employees at the customer care counters of the stations tell that this card is no longer available, even the passengers are being forcefully given National Common Mobility Cards.
According to passengers, this card cannot be recharged through ticket vending machine, this card can be recharged only through Airtel Thanks app. Even through UPI from any other app, it cannot be recharged. The surprising thing is that machines have not been installed to validate the recharge of NCMC cards.
Recharge of less than Rs 200 is not possible at the customer care centre. In such a situation, there will be more difficulties for those who are not smart phone users. However, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has denied all these claims. Also told that old smart cards are also being given on the demand of passengers.
According to DMRC, there are three types of National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC Cards). First- Prepaid cards, which have a wallet, it is in a way like a debit card. This card can be used in parking at all places including metro. Apart from this, DMRC said that all metro and Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Rail fares can also be paid through NCMC card.
