Snow on the high peaks of Himachal – NNSP

Shimla. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department in Himachal Pradesh, snowfall has started in the high altitude areas. Snow started falling in the higher areas of Rohtang, Gulaba and Spiti of Kullu-Manali in the evening. Snowfall is good and relieving news for tourists and tourism businessmen. This is the first snowfall of the season on the high peaks of Kullu district, while Kinnaur district has also received light snowfall on September 12. The minimum temperature of Tabo in Lahaul Spiti has dropped to minus 8.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Samdo has fallen to minus 1.3 degrees, Kukumsairi to 4.1 degrees and Keylong to 2.0 degrees. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow haze alert at some places in Mandi and Bilaspur districts today. According to the department, visibility may fall below 50 meters due to fog. In view of this, drivers have been advised to drive carefully.

Farmers are hit hardest by drought
Of course snow is falling in the higher areas. But the dry spell is not breaking in other areas. The people of the state have been waiting for rain for 53 days. Farmers have been hit the hardest by this. Due to drought, farmers have not been able to sow wheat on 63 percent of the land. The appropriate time for its sowing in the state has passed a week ago. Now the water level in the rivers and streams has also started falling. Due to this, water on drinking water and irrigation schemes has also started decreasing. Electricity production has also been affected due to less water in rivers and streams.
