Appearance | There was chaos in the Syedpura area of the city last night due to the incident of stone pelting on the Ganesh Pandal. After the incident, a large number of police forces were deployed in the area. Regarding the incident, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said that strict action will be taken against the stone pelters. The police have arrested 27 accused in this case so far. In the preliminary investigation, 6 minor boys, whose age is 12 to 14 years, were also involved in the stone pelting incident. The question is that on whose instigation did the minor boys reach there to pelt stones. Shri Ganesh ji has been established in Syedpura Variavi market of Surat city. The idol of Shri Ganesh ji, known as ‘Variavi Cha Raja’, was pelted with stones by people coming in auto rickshaws late at night. After the stone pelting incident, security has been increased in Syedpura and action has also been started against the miscreants. During the night itself, the police caught 27 stone pelters and put them behind bars. After the incident, the entire area is being monitored by drones. According to the information, after the stone pelting incident, a situation of communal tension arose in the area. A large number of people gathered at the police post, where stones were pelted on the police and the MLA. Not only this, people angry with the stone pelting incident also set vehicles on fire. To control the situation, the police had to use tear gas and lathi charge. At present, Surat Police is fully alert after the incident. More than 200 policemen have been deployed in the security system in Syedpura area. The police has appealed to the people to avoid any kind of rumor and hand over the videos related to the incident to the police if they have any. Evidence is being collected against the people involved in the whole matter. Regarding the Surat incident, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi posted on Instagram and informed about the action taken against the accused. Sanghvi said that ‘As I had promised, the stone pelters have been arrested before sunrise. The police have arrested 27 stone pelters and strict action will be taken against them. At present, monitoring is being done through CCTV and drones.
