Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the central government will launch ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana’ under which solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of one crore houses.
Modi made this announcement after returning to Delhi after attending the consecration ceremony of the idol of Ram Lalla at the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.
He said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “All the devotees of the world always get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram.
On the auspicious occasion of the consecration of life in Ayodhya, my resolve was further strengthened that Indians should have their own solar roof top system on their rooftops.”
He said, “After returning from Ayodhya, the first decision I have taken is that our government will launch ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana’ with the target of installing rooftop solar panels on one crore houses.”
The Prime Minister said that this will not only reduce the electricity bills of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the field of energy. The Prime Minister chaired a meeting in this regard after returning from Ayodhya.
He shared its pictures on social media. Later, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana aims to provide electricity to low and middle income individuals through solar panels.
Besides, its aim is also to provide a source of additional income from surplus power generation. The Prime Minister also directed that a comprehensive national campaign should be launched for consumers in residential areas in view of the large number of solar panel installations.
Ramlala’s life consecration in Ayodhya, PM called it a supernatural moment
At the same time, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the new idol of Ramlala was consecrated in the temple of Ayodhya on Monday. Modi termed this moment as a symbol of the arrival of a new era.
Lakhs of people watched this Pran Pratishtha program organized just a few months before the Lok Sabha elections, on television in their homes and neighborhood temples.
The new idol of Ramlala was consecrated at 12.29 pm. Along with the abrogation of Article 370 that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir and the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya has been on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) agenda for decades.
During the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony, Army helicopters showered flowers on the newly constructed Janmabhoomi temple. Also, in some parts of Ram Nagari, people celebrated with singing and dancing.
Modi said in his address, “Today, our Ram has come. After a long wait of ages our Ram has arrived. Our Ramlala will no longer live in the tent. Our Ramlala will live in a grand temple.”
