Sources said Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti chairman and ex-officio member of the trust Nripendra Mishra, RSS’s all-India contact chief Ram Lal and VHP’s international working president Alok Kumar met Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge and invited them to the function.
At the same time, Congress sources said that both are unlikely to attend. Nripendra Mishra had also sought time to meet Manmohan Singh but the former Prime Minister’s Office refused to give the time citing his delicate health.
The delegation also met former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and former President Ramnath Kovind and invited them to the grand ceremony.
Sources said that invitation has also been sent to former President Pratibha Patil. Apart from this, heads of all political parties have also been invited. Interestingly, Chief Ministers and Governors are not being invited.
Sources said that after the consecration ceremony, a day will be fixed for each state to visit the temple. Some special trains can also be arranged. He said that Chief Ministers will also be invited for darshan along with devotees from their states.
Special arrangements will be made to welcome him. Sources said that invitations are being sent to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, BSP chief Mayawati and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

The guest list includes Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, industrialist Adani Group’s Gautam Adani, Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Arun Govil, who played Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana TV series. , film director Madhur Bhandarkar, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and others.

A senior VHP leader said that the speculations about opposition leaders not being invited to the death ceremony on January 22 are false.
He said, “Of course everyone cannot be invited as a huge crowd can gather for the event. That is why party presidents are being called. But everyone is welcome to come to Ayodhya after the ceremony.”
