SpaceX, which is going to bring back Sunita Williams, has been fined by the US Federal Aviation Administration.
Angered by this fine, Elon Musk wrote that the FAA is imposing heavy fines on us even for small things, while it does not take any action against Boeing for putting astronauts in danger.
Speaking on the social media platform X, Musk said that they have fined us for things that have nothing to do with safety.
He said that NASA deemed Boeing’s spacecraft unsafe for the return of astronauts, they gave us the responsibility of bringing them back but instead of imposing a fine on Boeing, the FAA is imposing a fine on us.
Musk said that now it is enough. We are doing better work, yet we are constantly facing fines.
Posting a letter written by SpaceX’s David Harris, Musk wrote that Harris has written a letter to the FAA’s oversight committees to express his concerns. In this letter, we have emphasized the company’s objections and our commitment to safety.
