French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest at India’s 75th Republic Day celebrations.

He announced on Friday that by the year 2030, 30 thousand Indian students will be able to study in France.

Macron posted on Instagram that this is a very ambitious target, but I am committed to achieving it.

This announcement of the French President is being seen as a gift to India on the occasion of Republic Day.

President Macron said on the post, ‘We are opening a new way to learn French in public schools. It has been named ‘French for All, French for a Better Future’. New centers are being opened for the purpose of teaching French. We are creating international classes. Through this, students who do not speak French will be able to join our universities. He further said in this post, “Not only this, we will also provide visa process to those Indian students who have studied in France. This will help them come back.”

There was a conversation between PM Modi and President Macron on Thursday
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Macron had discussed to further strengthen bilateral strategic partnership. The talks between the two leaders took place at the luxurious hotel ‘Taj Rambagh Palace’ in Jaipur.

Earlier officials had said that during the discussions, the focus would be on increasing cooperation in other areas including defense and security, trade, climate change and nuclear energy.

PM Modi and Macron conducted a road show from Jantar Mantar located in the park to Sanganeri Gate.

A large number of people gathered in the road show. Both the leaders later visited a shop selling local artefacts and handicraft products.

Modi gifted a replica of the newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya to President Macron.
