Colombo. China has always been taking advantage of its neighboring countries to corner India. Sometimes Pakistan, Nepal and sometimes Sri Lanka. Dragons use the land of these countries to surround India but this time they have got a befitting reply from the neighboring country.
In fact, in his meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, who is visiting Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Dissanayake has slammed China. President Dissanayake discussed many issues in his meeting with Jaishankar. During this, he said that he will not allow Sri Lankan land to be used for activities against India. Both countries emphasized that our security interests are interconnected. India assured Sri Lanka of continued support to rebuild its economy and in return Sri Lanka said that its territory would not be allowed to be used in a manner prejudicial to India’s security interests.
In a meeting with Jaishankar, President Dissanayake said India’s economic support is vital to realizing his vision of a prosperous Sri Lanka and fulfilling the aspirations of the people. Jaishankar is the first Indian foreign minister to visit Sri Lanka after the Dissanayake-led National People’s Power (NPP) government came to power on September 23. He assured that India will sign an agreement with Sri Lanka on bilateral debt restructuring and will support the private bond holder debt restructuring agreement.
Jaishankar also emphasized how the ongoing initiatives in the fields of energy generation and transmission and fuel and LNG supply, among other sectors, will contribute to economic stability for the island nation and provide new sources of revenue.
