The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken strict action in the terrorist-gangster nexus case.
NIA today (Tuesday, March 12) has raided a total of 30 places in four states Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Union Territory Chandigarh and is conducting extensive searches there. At present this action is going on.
News agency PTI has confirmed this.
NIA is also raiding different locations in Moga district of Punjab. During this time, Punjab Police is also present along with the National Investigation Agency. NIA team is also conducting raid in Bilaspur village of Moga.
The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted searches in four states and one Union Territory as part of its probe into the terrorist-gangster nexus case, sources told PTI.
An NIA spokesperson had earlier said that as part of its efforts to disrupt and dismantle such terror and mafia networks and their support infrastructure, the NIA has adopted a number of targeted strategies in recent months, including the recovery of funds obtained from terror activities. Also includes attachment and confiscation of properties acquired from the income.
Last year also, NIA had taken strict action against gangster and Khalistani nexus. Then the investigating agency had raided a total of 51 locations in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and UP.
The agency had then taken this action in 3 cases related to nexus between terrorists, gangsters and drug dealers.
