Supreme Court takes action against Wikipedia, issues strict orders

The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard the case of the murder of a female intern doctor after sexual assault at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. Let us tell you that, during the hearing on Tuesday, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of the CBI told the Supreme Court that the name and photograph of the victim are still being shown on Wikipedia. In response to this, the Supreme Court indicated to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that it would issue an order directing Wikipedia to remove the name and photograph of the victim.

The police handed over everything to the CBI

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Police told the Supreme Court that they have no evidence related to the crime, including CCTV footage. All the material has been handed over to the CBI. Senior advocate Indira Jaising, appearing for West Bengal, said that she is ready to give the names of other people present at the crime scene to the CBI in a sealed envelope.
