Chandigarh. A suspected low-intensity explosion took place in Sector 10 of Chandigarh last night, damaging windows and flower pots in a residential area, police said. According to police officials, the incident is being investigated, with forensic teams collecting evidence at the scene. They said one person has been arrested in connection with the blast.
The police have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information about the suspects. According to the police, the auto-rickshaw used by the accused person has been seized.
According to Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, the blast occurred around 6 pm, damaging windows and flower pots in the residential area. The CFSL team has arrived and all evidence is being collected. The SSP said the complainant told that he saw two men near the house, who allegedly hurled grenades at the spot. “The complainant has said that 2 suspicious men came in an auto and hurled grenades. The complainant saw them. Teams are searching for them. Some explosion has taken place, we are investigating the cause of the blast,” she said.
