Before the Lok Sabha elections, alliance efforts have also started in Tamil Nadu.
There have been speculations for a long time about coming together with the ruling DMK in the state and actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MNM).
Sources say that now final talks are going on between the two on seat sharing. Soon both can announce to contest elections together.
Let us tell you that Kamal Haasan had already indicated that he may join the DMK-led alliance. Congress is also involved in this.
Now after the meeting with MK Stalin, an announcement can be made to contest the Lok Sabha elections together. In this way he can be a part of the opposition alliance INDIA.
The meeting between the two leaders is planned after the budget session in the Assembly. The budget session of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is starting from Monday.
Sources have said that a proposal has been made to give one seat to MNM. Kamal Haasan himself wants to contest elections on this seat. MNM’s election symbol is battery torch. The Election Commission has given him the mark only a week ago.
According to the Times of India report, DMK has held the first phase of talks with its allies.
If a new party joins the alliance then the discussion will be started once again. Earlier there was also news that his party has joined the alliance with the ruling DMK.
Let us tell you that if the alliance is finalized with Kamal Haasan, then several rounds of talks can be held with other allies to finalize his seat. Sources say that he wants to contest elections from Coimbatore or Chennai North.
However, there are currently DMK MPs on both the seats. Let us tell you that Haasan had tried his luck in the 2021 assembly elections but he had to face defeat against the BJP candidate from Coimbatore South seat.
