Washington. A high school teacher in America, Hailey Clifton-Carmack, has confessed to having sex with a 16-year-old minor student, while other students kept watch at the school. Not only this, the student’s father was also aware of the sexual relationship between the female teacher and his son. He kept this matter hidden instead of telling the authorities.
Clifton-Carmack, a divorced mother of two, was arrested in January this year after the incident came to light when a student reported the affair to a school official. The student witness showed police scratches on the victim’s back inflicted by Clifton-Carmack during the sexual encounter in the witness’ driveway. The teacher now faces up to four years in prison. She will be under house arrest until her sentencing on October 11. The incident took place at Lackey High School in Missouri last year.
According to media reports, the student who testified told Detective Sergeant Brian Gibbs that Clifton-Carmack had spoken openly about her personal life in class. Clifton-Carmack initially denied the relationship when questioned by detectives on December 8, 2023. However, the police seized his phone and investigation found text messages revealing his illegal sexual relationship with the student. The accused teacher often wore revealing clothes such as low-cut shirts and tight leggings. The student’s father, Mark Creighton, was also arrested by the police in January as he did not report the teacher’s actions to the police station despite knowing about the incident. Court documents show that Creighton admitted to knowing about the sexual relationship.
