Terrorist attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, death of 40 creates panic

Peshawar: A vehicle of Shia Muslims was attacked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, at least 40 people died in this attack. This incident took place in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Parachinar district, located on Pakistan’s north-western border with Afghanistan, frequently experiences violence. Its Sunni and Shia Muslim communities control land and power.
The region’s Shia minority is also known as a predominantly Sunni Muslim nation with a population of 241 million. The statement of local police officer Azmat Ali has come out in this matter, he said that some vehicles were going in a convoy from Parachinar city towards Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During this time the convoy was attacked midway. Provincial minister Aftab Alam said authorities were investigating to trace those involved in the attack. Also, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi described the firing as a terrorist attack.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack and said that those behind the killing of innocent civilians will not be spared.

President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned this incident. In a post on Twitter, he wrote, “Attacking innocent passengers is cowardly and inhuman. Also, those responsible for the incident will be punished. The injured should be given medical help from time to time.”

Mir Hussain, 35, a resident of Kurram, has also given his statement in this matter, saying that he saw four gunmen coming out of a vehicle and as soon as they left, they started firing at buses and cars.
