Giving this information, defense officials said that terrorists opened fire from outside the base at Sunjwan Military Station in Jammu, in which an army soldier was injured. Search operation is underway to trace the attackers. The terrorist attack took place in the area near the Sentry Post Area of ​​Sunjwan Military Station. 36 Infantry Brigade is deployed here. According to media reports, suspicious activities were seen outside the military station, after which the soldiers opened fire. Due to this, there was a commotion and a search operation has been started.
Army officials said that no suspected casualties were reported after the firing but the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the army and local police cordoned off the area for a thorough search. This is not the first time that the Sunjwan Military Station has been attacked. Earlier in February 2018, terrorists attacked the Sunjwan Military Camp, in which six soldiers were martyred, one civilian and three terrorists were also killed.
Last week, security forces foiled an infiltration attempt near the LoC in Gurez sector of Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 31. An exchange of fire broke out between the infiltrating terrorists and the Army after the movement of terrorists was observed. Last week itself, at least three terrorists were killed in two separate encounters along the LoC in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
