Farmers’ organizations and groups, happy with the purchase of 21 quintals of paddy per acre at the support price and payment of two years’ outstanding paddy bonus amounting to Rs 3716 crore, welcomed Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and his associate ministers at various places. A similar scene of welcoming the Chief Minister by farmer groups was seen recently in Narayanpur, the district headquarters of the remote forest area of ​​the state.

Officials and members of farmer organizations in Narayanpur warmly welcomed Chief Minister Sai for the decisions taken by his government in the interest of farmers and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Officials of farmers’ organizations said that they had not thought that the Vishnu Dev government would take such a quick decision regarding paddy purchase and outstanding bonus and implement it.

The speed with which the Chhattisgarh government has implemented the matters related to the interest of farmers included in the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is welcome.

The people of Chhattisgarh have expressed confidence in the guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state government has given top priority to this trust.

The state government has approved Prime Minister House to more than 18 lakh eligible families of the state. 21 quintals of paddy per acre has been purchased from farmers.

Keeping in mind the interest of the farmers who were left unable to sell paddy despite the record breaking purchase of paddy at the support price in the state, the Chhattisgarh government also increased the stipulated period of paddy purchase by 4 days.

Farmers believe that from the decisions of the state government so far, it has become clear that the new government is friendly to the farmers. The support price of Rs 2183 per quintal has been paid to the farmer brothers of the state in their bank accounts within 48 hours.

The state government is preparing to implement Krishak Unnati Yojana to provide fair price to the farmers for their produce. For the implementation of this new scheme, a provision of Rs 10 thousand crore has been made in the budget for the year 2024-25.

India is an agricultural country. Agriculture has a major contribution in the country’s GDP. Agriculture is also the basic basis of the economy of Chhattisgarh and this state is called the rice bowl. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai says that there was a time when farmers did not have capital for advanced and better farming.

Farmers had to do farming by taking money from moneylenders at high interest rates. Farmers were always stuck in debt.

Seeing this situation, the then Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee took the biggest step in the interest of farmers and implemented the Kisan Credit Card scheme. Due to this, farmers started getting loans from societies and banks at lower rates.

In the year 2003, for the first time, BJP government was formed in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Dr. Raman Singh. At that time, farmers used to get loans for farming from cooperative banks at concessional interest rates, which has been gradually reduced to zero percent. .

The work of giving interest-free loans to farmers for farming started during the Raman government of Chhattisgarh. Even today farmers are getting loans for farming at zero percent interest.

Crop insurance, the benefits of which are easily available to farmers across the country. The credit for this also goes to the then Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The crop insurance scheme was simplified during his tenure.

Pradhan Mantri Irrigation Scheme has been implemented to provide irrigation facilities to the farmers in Chhattisgarh. Through the Solar Sujala Yojana, the government has made arrangements for irrigation in the fields of farmers in remote areas where there is no electricity facility, by installing Solar Sujala irrigation pumps through this scheme.

To expand the irrigation area in the state, a budget of Rs 300 crore for new irrigation scheme, Rs 692 crore for ongoing minor irrigation projects, Rs 433 crore for NABARD funded irrigation projects and Rs 262 crore for construction of anicut and stop dam. The provision has been made by the Chhattisgarh government.

In Chhattisgarh, the state government is focusing on coordinated efforts to improve the condition of farmers and landless laborers and agriculture and allied activities. A provision of Rs 13 thousand 435 crore has been made in the budget of the Agriculture Department for the year 2024-25, an increase of 33 percent as compared to the last year.

Chhattisgarh government has set a credit limit of Rs 8500 crore to provide interest-free agricultural loans to farmers from cooperative and rural banks.

The Chief Minister mentioned ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is striving for the development and upliftment of all sections.

He has started Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana for the welfare of the tribal brothers living in remote forest areas, especially the people of backward tribes.

Along with providing better arrangements for permanent houses, roads, drains, electricity-water, education, health, and benefits of 11 schemes of the government, the work of providing benefits of 11 schemes of the government is being done rapidly in the settlements of special backward tribes living in Chhattisgarh. This scheme is being implemented in coordination with 9 government departments in Chhattisgarh.
