Have you also been feeling the heat this October? Even if this happens, it is not wrong.
In fact, this year’s October has been recorded as the hottest October month in the country. According to the Meteorological Department, this had previously happened in 1951 when it was so hot in October.
This year the temperature was highest in Central India (Madhya Pradesh, some parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh).
At the same time, in North-West India, which includes Delhi NCR, it was the second hottest October month since 1901. There is no respite from the feeling of heat even in November.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in various parts of the country will remain above normal in the first two weeks of November. However, a slight drop in temperature may be recorded in the second week.
The Meteorological Department said that the temperature is expected to go down significantly by the end of November. IMD Chief Mrityunjay Mohapatra has explained why there was so much heat in October this year.
He cited four low pressure systems, delayed onset of summer monsoon and western disturbance in October as the reasons behind this.
Regarding November, he said that the maximum temperature will be above normal, due to which the days will be hot in some parts of North-East, East Central and North-West India. At the same time, in the areas connecting West Central India and North West India, the temperature may remain normal or below normal during the day.
The Meteorological Department is not yet in a position to predict what the cold weather will be like in the country this year. The reason for this is that La Nina is not forming yet.
Only after the formation of La Nina can a correct prediction be made about the cold that will occur this year. The IMD chief said that all major global models had indicated the formation of La Nina in November-December.
But if this does not happen then now we will again have to wait for the latest global models. Only then will we be able to tell how much and for how long it will be cold in the country this year.
La Nina is expected to form in the months of November and December. If this happens, then we may have to face severe cold this year in the months of December to February.
Meteorological department chief Mrityunjay Mohapatra said La Nina is usually associated with a drop in temperatures in north and northwest India during the cold season.
But right now we cannot predict anything about this. He further said that research is going on as to why La Nina has not formed yet despite favorable conditions.
Mrityunjay Mohapatra further said that we also have to see what went wrong in all the global models?
